Ride the Brainwave
A 5K, a motorcycle rally and a Jeep Show and Shine, all in one weekend — and all of it for local families and individuals in the middle of a medical crisis.
It started with one family
The first ride was a handful of people trying to help a friend whose daughter had been badly hurt. No plan for it to become anything. It simply worked, so they did it again the next year.
Since then it has grown into one of the largest events of its kind in the valley — thousands of riders, runners, volunteers and sponsors, most of whom will never meet the people their entry fee helps. That is exactly the point.
Same ride, new home. Ride the Brainwave now continues under Waves of Courage. The weekend you know does not change: the same routes, the same community, the same reason for turning up. What changes is that the money raised can now reach further — to adults and individuals as well as children, and to community projects that need more than one family’s worth of help.
Three ways to take part
- 5K Run - walk it, run it, push a stroller through it.
- Motorcycle Rally - the ride the event was built around.
- Jeep Show and Shine - Jeeps stacked as far as the eye can see.
Not taking part? The weekend runs on volunteers — registration, course marshals, water stations, setup and teardown.
